Pebble Beach in Monterey, California

Two days ago we traveled to Pebble Beach Golf Course to view a golf tournament w/my favorite golfer, Eduardo Romero of Cordoba, Argentina.  He’s a very kind and sweet man. Let’s not forget his attractiveness either. ‘Pebble’ is globally renowned and one of the most prestigious golf courses globally. It’s RIGHT ON THE BEACH! The name of this tournament was ‘First Tee. It’s a charity event which  teaches kids (of all backgrounds) about life through golf. Who would have known this elitist sport could teach life’s lessons? Coincidentally, I was standing next to the participants. Clare was from Sacramento, CA and was so friendly and warm to me. At 17, she was playing with a professional who GIVES BACK! :) The primary advantage of going to these tournaments is that I usually stick out like a sore thumb! My golden brown complexion has led me to nationally obtaining clubhouse passes, goodies from professionals and autographed golf balls! THANK YOU LORD FOR MAKING ME BROWN! :)

Miracles DO Happen…Gradually…

Great News: Dr. Solomon, Medical Director of my birth hospital contacted me from Texas. He’s been here in the States for the last few weeks. I missed his Cali Visit by 2 days! the great news is we had a great phone chat and his neighbor remembers me as an infant and asked about my foster fam and grandfather. AMAZING!!! As a result, I have an invitation to visit them and be shown around. GREAT PEOPLE DO EXIST. Also, they are asking around the villages about my B.mom..”Babystep by Babystep.” I actually prefer it this way b/c it’s a lot to process. :) :)

NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!

One day I was going through some of Jack’s stuff and I found his family tree information. His mom’s side stems from the Revolutionary War. As a result, I decided to type in the name of my birth hospital: CSI Basel Mission Hospital. All of a sudden a photo popped up! It was amazing. It is part of a presentation and so I sent an email to the creator. Within 24 hours, I got a response. We began corresponding w/each other. He is a 25 year old Physical Therapist intern at the hospital doing his ‘mission’ requirement. Thanks to the modern world, I saw him on Facebook and felt very relieved that he wasn’t a fraud. I gave him my birthdate, and details about background. My first 24 hours of life were spent at this hospital. To many this doesn’t seem like much, but it’s definitely a connection to my influential past and birth nation. I mentioned my German foster parents and Opa Pfeiffer who took me from the hospital to the Polster family, my foster family. They took GREAT care of me for 10 months before I went to permanently go live w/my American adoptive parents in Germany. Thanks to my hospital record and Bevan, the Intern, my mother’s name is Tara Narayan and I weighed 5.8 lbs, BORN BREECH AND via C-section. I was TEENY!!  For the first time in my life, I felt that I came into the world correctly. I WAS NOT HATCHED…It is a lot to process, but very interesting. Our world is so small!! At the same time, the medical director, knew my foster parents and is now visiting the USA. I wish I had his itinerary.  All this info about me and my birth-mom is a blessing. I have NOT imagined this in a million years…I don’t want to get my hopes up too high, b/c there is a lot of falsifying of records and names. Hopefully my birth-mother’s name is true. It takes a while to process, so maybe it’s a blessing to get the info in pieces. Good thing I have investigative skills and am NOT AFRAID TO ASK…

Stay tuned for more of this unique adventure…

Stuck in between…

Hello everyone!

Sometimes I feel STUCK in between two cultures. On one hand, I have this fabulous Indian gene pool, but WILL NEVER be a part of the Indian community. Any visit to an Indian restaurant will demonstrate tis scenario. They look at me as if I am from outer space. Lovely, eh?? On the other hand, most Caucasians look at me and think I am a foreigner due to my physical appearance. Imagine me eating German cuisine and being the ONLY one. Figure this one out!

It’s official! I part of my OWN demographic b/c WE adoptees don’t really fit into ANY one category. WE are multifaceted & multicultural and can take the greatest from each aspect of our lives. Still, it’s a challenge at times, BUT IT IS MY LIFE!

Til Next time,

THE Desifrau!

The Infamous ‘Baby Project’ :)

As I was in the school office waiting for my client. I saw an African-American student holding an older Caucasian doll (due to budget cuts). As an adoptee, I thought, “If this baby was olive-skinned and the student was Caucasian, THIS IS MY FAMILY!!!

Food for Thought!!

Welcome Everyone!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

I am a 34 Indian adult adoptee who was born in Gadag-Betgeri, Karnataka, India and currently resides in the warm Central Valley via Neuenstadt am Kocher, Arnhem, Netherlands & San Francisco, California. While in India I spent my first 9 months of life  with the Dorle & Erhard Polster. Thanks to them I did no orphanage time and still have contact with them and their grown children.  How is this for international living? Needless to say, I LOVE traveling and am convinced it is part of my DNA.

By profession, I do retirement planning for educators. It’s the perfect combo of gabbing, analytical skills and finance for extroverted me! They don’t call me the ‘schmoozer’ for nothing! :) :)

I look forward to documenting my adventures and thoughts !

Ciao for now!
